A new online home for our community

Date Published

For a long time, staying connected with GBHO ran on phone calls, WhatsApp threads, paper sign-up sheets at Om Center Divya Dham, and a handful of volunteers keeping all of it straight in their heads and their notebooks. It worked when most of us knew each other by name. It got harder as our families spread out across more states every year.

So we built something to make it easier.

Today we're opening the first version of the GBHO member portal — one place to join as a member, give, register for events, and keep up with what's happening at our 150-acre home in Galion, Ohio. No more digging through old messages to find a form. No more wondering whether your membership is current.

What you can do today

Become a member or renew. Set up your account, pick your membership, and keep your information current from your phone or laptop.

Give to GBHO. Make a donation to support puja, cultural programs, and the upkeep of Om Center Divya Dham. GBHO is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, EIN 82-2341423. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Stay in the loop. See upcoming events and announcements in one place instead of scattered across group chats.

Update your own details. Moved? New phone number? You can fix it yourself in a minute, instead of asking someone to track down your record.

Our 108 founding members are already on the portal — the families who have carried this community since the early days. If you were part of GBHO before this launch, there's an account waiting for you to claim.

This is just the start

What you're seeing now is phase one. We built the core first — membership, giving, and events — because those are the things people asked for most. More is on the way as we hear what's useful and what's missing.

The next big piece is a mobile app. We're building it for everyone who keeps this community running: members who want their card and event RSVPs in their pocket, donors who want to give in a few taps, and volunteers who need to coordinate without a dozen separate threads. When it's ready, staying connected to GBHO will be as simple as opening an app.

"We started GBHO so no family would have to feel alone in a new country. This portal is one more way to keep that promise — to make it easy for anyone, anywhere, to stay part of us." — Kamal Dhimal, President & CEO (draft quote, needs subject permission before publishing)

If you do one thing today, claim your account and take a look around. Tell us what works and what doesn't. This is your portal, and it gets better when you help shape it.

Namaste, and welcome home.
